What's Holding You Back

What is holding you back
- from giving God all you've got?
- from dreaming God-sized dreams?
- from believing God is in the thick of your story and working on your behalf?
- from being who you know God made you to be?
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." (Hebrews 12:1)

Almost all of us can identify what is holding us back from giving God all we've got, but we just can't seem to commit to this strategy:
- THROW OFF EVERYTHING THAT HINDERS

That thing between you and God - throw it as far away from you as possible!

The thing is, I've got to be more hungry for God than I am for that thing that's holding me back or entangling me.

Easier said than done. My flesh is powerful, selfish, and plays scared.

What God offers is sometimes too hypothetical for my flesh to trust.

What do I do?

Hebrews 12:2 (the next verse) - Fix my eyes on Jesus

He is the author of my faith - He birthed it in me. It comes from Him and finds itself fully in Him.

He is the perfecter of my faith - He, who began this good work in me, will continue it on to perfection.

He endured much worse suffering than me - for the joy set before Him - the joy of setting you free from sin and connecting you to the Father.

I can endure, too, as I fix my eyes on Him and know His joy.
