The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:5-8)
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
That's possibly the biggest "but" in human history!
What if Noah had not found favor with God? The Bible would be only 5 pages long and you wouldn't be around to read this post. All of human history would be altered if Noah had not found favor.
What part of your history might be different if you find favor, or fail to, with God?
Who's history might be different based upon your level of favor with God?
Here is what I'm recognizing as I calculate my passion to find greater favor with God:
* Finding favor with God is not "accidental". It takes commitment and focus.
* Finding favor with God can not be a low priority - it requires first place
* Finding favor with God means His voice must be the loudest in my ears and drown out all other voices.
* Favor with God leads to awesome assignments for God - expensive, risky, painful, and rewarding assignments - I must evaluate my willingness to accept this.
What would you add to this list?
