Kick Off Your Shoes

As Moses tends his sheep out in the wilderness, he sees a burning bush and turns aside to see what's going on. God then informs him that he is standing on Holy Ground and should remove his shoes.

A spot in the wilderness becomes Holy Ground.

A spot in your wilderness - your routine journey - becomes Holy Ground, too. Wherever God is is Holy and He is everywhere you are!

Kick off your shoes - mentally, emotionally, and spiritually - you are on Holy Ground.

God is with you.

He wants to speak with you - tell you His dreams and plans - commission you for His purposes.

By the way, I don't recommend Moses' response as your own - "Who am I, that you should choose me?"

What God hears when we ask that is, "Who are You, that You should choose me?"

He knows what He is doing and His call is sufficient for your sufficiency.

One more "by the way" - things got quickly and intensely worse before they got better.

Even when we recognize our path as Holy Ground, and we dedicate our steps to Him, things can often get far worse for us, and for those we love, before God turns them around.

I wonder if that's to insure all glory is His, or to toughen us up for the ride. Who knows, but I think it's a certainty that obedience to God leads us into tremendous challenges.

And great victories!

Kick off your shoes - you are standing on Holy Ground because He is with you and He has a detailed plan for your good and His glory.

shanouw says: I would like to give your post a hearty AMEN! Well said. It is such a spot of freedom when we finally realize that God does know what He is doing and He will provide what is needed for the assignment. Haven't been to that place nearly enough times, but the few times I have been were awesome! Trusting Him through to the victory can bring a thrill like no other...in my opinion.
