"Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:7-8)
This is the single identifier of your standing with God.
This is the common birth mark of all followers of Jesus.
The people of God love God and people, whom He so dearly loves.
Whoever does not love does not know God. Plain and simple.
Why is it that Christians choose other traits and expectations for one another? Things like smoking, for example.
In most churches, a man can be unkind, unloving, judgmental and arrogant without community pressure from his church family. But let him light a cigarette in the parking lot and suddenly people wonder if he's a believer at all.
Something is dreadfully wrong with that! Where did that come from and how do we eliminate it?
Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.
